Schooled in zen and martial arts, H Otsuka has lived and worked by the warrior's code of discipline and duty.
Rooted in Japanese tradition yet adventurous in nature, he is known throughout the world for his boldness of color and style that mark him as truly unique. As a result of his rigorous training Otsuka approaches his work in photography with the same seriousness of purpose and single minded concentration that has the samurai warrior legend throughout the world. Otsuka came to Hawaii in 1979 until that time his painting had been historical in subject and theme. now it has emerged from the past in ways that are very exciting. In his brilliant four different themes he add one more to his arch: Photography.
